February 8th, 2012

Nansi Sanya, Australia/Danish-Thai
Age 22
Height 174 cm

Born in Pattaya, Thailand, Nansi moved to Australia as a young child and spent most of her life moving from place to place. Now, at a tender age of 22, Nansi is already living alone and travelling around the world on a solo discovery of herself and the cultures that surround her.

Being an independent and optimistic individual, Nansi believes in self-reliance and a hopeful future. She enjoys alone time and views life as a learning journey. She believes that everything happens for a reason and obstacles ultimately make you a stronger individual.

Nansi is still living each day as it comes, figuring out her purpose in life and what it means for her to be fulfilled and truly happy. She quotes, “My life is not determined by other people, I am my own person.”

Kungfu Task

Task today… In the morning, we were all sitting around, mucking around. Then suddenly, we received a text message. We pressed play on the TV and Lisa tells us we will be doing WUSHU just like in the Jet Lee movies! We all ran upstairs to get prepared.

When we arrived at Wufang Singapore, we see a quite intense Wushu display…IT WAS AMAZING! Our instructor then tells us that we will be learning a section of the routine for the task today. My first thought was “Ooooooh.”

The training was quite intense repeating such physically demanding positions. I was getting so flustered and couldn’t remember all the moves. It came down to the competition side of the task, I knew already, I wasnt going to win this one.

Jacky ended up winning and brought Asha along for her reward at Orchard Parksuites

Tiff and I felt tired so we ended up having an early night.

Elimination

Oh dear. Here again.

I’m seriously starting to dread elimination. When my picture was judged, I got the “I am not Mad at it line” from Lisa.. And Daniel Boey said he liked my picture. I don’t think it’s enough to save me from being in the bottom two this time.

It was between Asha and I, and I was asked why I deserved to be here over Asha, and vice versa. I really hated answering those questions. For me, I’d rather talk about how I can and need to improve rather than how much better I am than someone else. I’m just not that cocky about myself.

I know I am strong, despite my insecurities that just get the better of me sometimes. At the end of the brutal questions, it was time for the moment of truth. When my light came on, I was so relieved, I walked over to join the other girls and Lisa walks to talk to Asha.

Asha was so sad, and the next minute, Lisa says “You’re a Lucky Ducky” This elimination is a pre-determined non elimination. Asha’s face was priceless. Everybody was so shocked. I was absolutely happy for Asha but also a bit worried about having to secure my place in the Top 3 once more. Nonetheless, I was happy for Asha and we congoed out of the elimination room.

Wire Stunt Photo Challenge

Today’s photo challenge is probably the most important photoshoot in the competition! We arrive at an old open warehouse on the edge of the Singapore river, with the city as a backdrop

When we met Lisa and Joel, the Photographer on the jetty, Lisa tells us that we will be strapped into a harness and would be flying through the air.

I was to go first. I was definitely nervous about going first. It took me a while to get used to being in the harness and controlling my limbs. I felt very confined doing the same move over and over again. It started to feel more and more mechanical.

I just free-styled and went for all different moves, something i’m definitely putting into my head for the next time.

Elimination

We get to the elimination studio still with our crazy stylish Monsoon hair and dark rockstar Shiseido make up, everyone’s pretty quiet. It’s been a long day and by the end of this elimination its going to be top 3!

As we walk out onto the elimination platform it occurs to me that this is the last elimination I will ever have to face. When the judges get to my picture Lisa firstly mentions how it took me quiet a while to get this picture, which leaves me feeling a bit uneasy but overall my end picture was good then after my photo deliberation they play my star hub casting video. By this point I just wanted to run away to avoid the embarrassment ha ha I knew my casting video wasn’t my best and I kicked myself for that but surprisingly the judges didn’t hate it, they just gave me tips on what I need to work on to become better in front of the camera. I personally am always open to criticism as i know its the only way to learn.

After judging we sat and waited while the judges deliberated for what felt like forever. I kinda knew I would be in bottom two again considering it took me so long to get my picture but im still going to stay positive no matter what.

Just as I suspected I was in the bottom 2 with jaqueline.. When Lisa came out we expected her to ask us for our plea but instead she turned to Tiffany and Asha and asked who they thought should be in top 3 Then asked jaqueline and I a question each. Lisa then left the room and jaqueline and I awaited out fate.

At this point I feel I’m ready for which ever way it goes. I’m proud of making it this far but at the same time I want to make it further.

When my light came on I was so happy and pretty overwhelmed with shock, it was big hugs with the girls. I don’t think the shock wore off till we got home, it felt good though. I was so relieved.. Yeahhhhhh I’m in the top 3 !!!

Casting Call & Rock star Task

Today for our challenge we find out that from our Lisa video that we will be doing a casting call as well as testing our star talent on stage with the hip hop band six. So first up we get ready in our jeans and tank top for our casting call for Starhub. when we walk In we see aesa and she tells us that we will have 15 mins to memorize our lines before we act them out on camera . We all go on to a room to go over our lines, during that time I was getting frustrated the lines just weren’t sinking in and because we weren’t separated all i could hear was the other girls voices. I was last to go in , when I got in there I was so flustered .I didn’t know the lines as well as I would of liked to and it was affecting my confidence. I literally stumbled through my lines it was so bad, I took it really bad because usually I’m pretty good at this stuff.

After our casting call we go to a club called St.James Power House. We walk in to see six performing on stage, they were pretty cool the song was really catchy. Tiff, Asha, Jaqu and I even started Dancing ,at the end of their amazing performance we find out that we will be performing the same song on stage. I actually have stage fright so I was pretty nervous ,again I was the last girl to go up. When the other girls went up the task became more fun and I felt a lot more excited about it. When I got up there I just let loose and for a min just forgot about everything and enjoyed myself up there! It felt amazing to be on stage :)
At the end of my performance I received some feedback from six and it was really positive so I was happy.. It was a great end to the day .
