Today we all went bare! It seems something that would be scary and nerve-wrecking but honestly it wasn’t that bad. For the shoot it was nude but covering, so I knew the shot would come out respectable. It took a bit of courage to take the robe off in front of everyone in the room but coming this far I’ve learnt that to be a good model you need to be confident, and confidence brings the beauty out of you.

During the shoot we just had a nude G-string on. So I’m glad we weren’t completely bare! In the morning Kathlene and I had stomach problems which were really bad luck, especially for a nude shoot! By the time it was my turn my stomach had settled and I put my mind towards feeling comfortable and confident in the shoot, and it worked! I was so happy with today’s shoot!

Today is another off-day! I woke up late, had fish ball soup and then went out to specifically buy bubble tea – grape ice blended with pearls! My favorite! I don’t seem like a real model when I talk about food, but I can’t stop! Later on, we went gaming! Nerdy but so fun! We played Left 4 Dead, a zombie game where you get rid of the zombies before they spread the disease! It was fun and in the end, we had to drag Christabel out because she loved the game! Haha. That was classic.

Today we had two photo shoots. We woke up around 5.30am and got ready for a 1920s’ shoot. Our hair and make-up were amazing! We had this cute layered dress, pearls and a designer ‘smoking pipe’ to work with. The shoot was fun! It’s so great to dress up as different characters in every shoot. The difficult part about today’s challenge is that all of us had the same outfits, so we really had to make the dress look like our own. We have to look different from each other.

Later on we had an avant-garde shoot. We had CRAZY outfits. I had two massive tutu skirts that puffed out with shiny blue tights and gold heels under it, together with a purple bikini top and millions of bangles and necklaces piled on. It was awesome dressing in things you would NEVER wear on the streets! We even got to do a shoot with a fire breather, an acrobat and a guy on stilts. It’s great to know that these added elements will make the pictures look even better! I think I gave too much a variety of poses for the photographer so they couldn’t find the perfect shot. Nevertheless, I had so much fun today! It’s so amazing doing these wild photo shoots. I would never be able to get this chance in real life.

Today was an off-day, one of my favorite days. We slept until 4pm – that sounds so lazy but it was honestly catching up on sleep. Yesterday I was awake for 22 hours (because we went to Zouk). So it was sooooo good to catch-up on sleep. Later on that day we went shopping at Far East Plaza and Isetan. Then we waited till 11.45pm to watch ‘Drag Me To Hell’. It was such a weird movie – one moment we were laughing because of the lame acting and storyline and then the next minute we were screaming whenever the old lady popped up. Please, I don’t ever wait up till midnight to watch these movies! We got home late and slept!

Today was chilly! I walked into a freezer and there was a shoot set up in there! With ice blocks as seats, and guess what?! We were in lingerie! When I first got in there it felt like Antarctica! The hardest part was that I had my bare bum on an ice block! It was extremely nippy! And eventually my bum numbed. It was such a weird feeling. First it was cold, then it was numb, then it felt like it was burning. But for this shoot, I ignored these feelings and concentrated on getting the right shot. But overall, it was such a weird experience since the ice was so slippery that it was hard to hold a pose! At the end, my bum was still cold even hours after the shoot. It’s probably de-frosting? The shoot was great though, it’s so funny to think back and say ‘Oh, this morning I had a photo shoot in an igloo.’

Later on that night, we had dinner together. We cooked squid, veggies, and frog legs! In the end it turned out great. It was kind of sad to have our last meal together. ):

Today we went to a wet market… in bikinis. I had to shop for oyster sauce, fish and veggies. I even saw the fish being gutted, poor fish! It was actually really cool to see Singapore’s produce; it really felt being on some show like ‘True Asia’!

Later on we went to Hide and Seek boutique for a casting. We met Keith, who designs amazing cocktail dresses. We showed him our pictures and showed him our catwalk in his evening gowns. I loved the dress I wore. It was red silk, and looked amazing! I felt I did so much better in today’s casting compared to the other castings. I think I felt so much more confident today, I see as an improvement.

Saturday, 26 December 2009

Today we did castings! First stop was meeting Nicholas at Nicholas boutique. It was my first casting so I had no idea what to do. Nicholas as so nice and we went through my photos. Then we showed him our catwalk and he told us what improvements to make.

He had advised me to make my walk stronger.

Later on we went to La Perla for another casting, this time it was in front of 3 judges, and we wore La Perla bikinis and swimwear. This casting was so much more stressful. I think it was because we were judged by not 1 but 3 people and were wearing skimpier clothes. During my catwalk assessment I concentrated too much on my walk that I didn’t look that hot! They said I needed to look sexier and not look too serious. Christabel ended up getting the job, I was so happy for her! I couldn’t wait to see her at the La Perla fashion show. I wasn’t too disappointed I didn’t get the job because I know I should build up more experience before I do a lingerie show!

Saturday, 26 December 2009

Today we had a fitting at La Perla for shoot tomorrow. I really loved the lingerie there. One day, I hope to own some! They are so beautiful. I will be wearing this gorgeous pink silky bra and G-string tomorrow. I loved it and hopefully I can work it in the shoot tomorrow.

Saturday, 26 December 2009

Today we had a day off. We went to VivoCity. I had a carb-free Carl’s Junior burger. It was so cool! It’s a burger wrapped in lettuce! We went to River Island, Zara, Pull & Bear to did heaps of shopping. We had ice chendol and heaps of prata and mango too.

We basically relaxed for the rest of the day. Later that day, we watched the Thai horror thriller, Shutter. Honestly, it was the scariest movie I have even seen! If you have the time please watch it! But probably don’t watch it alone.

Saturday, 26 December 2009

Today we slept in till lunch time! I watched Elizabeth Town and ate about 3 mangoes! We went to a Thai restaurant on 6th Avenue. We had yummy papaya salad, thai beef salad, seafood tom yam soup, phad thai and culd put. It was awesome. For dessert, we had sticky rice pudding with mango. I was in heaven, literally! We talked about scary movies and I learn that there is an asian-version of The Ring and is way scarier than the American version. Going out to Zouk to see a French DJ! Can hardly wait!

My hint for this week’s StarHub Dress the Supermodel is: Something tasteful and simple will definitely suit me! Maybe you can try dressing me in clothes from Topshop? ;P

Saturday, 26 December 2009

Today we went to a workers village for a shoot! There were like 800 men from Bangladesh India. Walking through this building was really sad, they lived in poor conditions, with no mattresses and the rooms were filled with tiny bunk beds. It made me realize how lucky we all are to live in comfortable conditions.

The shoot was difficult; we had the men surrounding us while we were wearing beautiful couture designed by Fredrick Lee. Somehow I couldn’t perform well. I really tried hard but couldn’t pull off facial expressions.

Overall, it was a great surreal experience, doing shoots in the most unimaginable places are so satisfying. I really enjoyed it.

Elimination. Anna left. I really expected myself to go, it was so sad to see her journey end, but she’s such a great and strong-hearted girl, I know she’ll do so well in modeling.

Saturday, 26 December 2009

We met the future Arnold Schwarzenegger, also Mr. Universe Body Builder, Roland Kickinger. He had the biggest muscles I have ever seen! He taught us how to tone up and keep our bodies healthy! I am so motivated to eat well and keep fit at the same time. He shared with us all these great recipes he uses to stay healthy, like Salmon Shakes! Salmon, cucumber, apple, tomatoes and oatmeal! I don’t know if I would be able to drink that at all!

Later on, we went to “Sentosa” for some fun. We got to sit on the “luge” where you go-cart down a hill. We all raced to the bottom. It was so scary at times, I thought we would crash into the walls so many times! It was really very fun! After that we went to “Café Del Mar” , this beautiful bar and restaurant by the beach. There was a drunk girl who couldn’t stand but it was only 5.30 pm! Apart from that, we had a beautiful dinner there! We also got to catch up with Jenny as she was staying at a hotel on Sentosa! We sipped on watermelon juices and relaxed by the pool!

Saturday, 19 December 2009

EWWW!!! Today I picked up a fat bullfrog. Mother, of all things alive! It was so gross! I felt so queasy doing it and felt the insides wriggle when I picked them up. It took me over 5 minutes to pick up 5 frog!

Later on, we proceeded to Wild Wild Wet for some water fun! We went on really extreme yet fun water rides. We relaxed in the jacuzzi pool and Tsunami pool. We also got to buy waffles and bubble tea there! It was such a treat but I kept wondering what the next shoot would be like tomorrow!

=)

Saturday, 19 December 2009

We did a very interesting activity called the Zorb today! It is an activity done in a ball where you will be strapped to a harness and rolled down a hill. Your whole world will turn upside down, 360 degress. It was so fun and your face will go so red from turning completely upside down. I went with Christabel and we were struggling attempting the ‘hamster walk’ as we call it. Walking inside a ball to make it move is not as easy as it looks. Given our height and the steepness of the hill, we had to hunch and work our way up. It was so fun and I would love to try it again!

We met up with Rebecca Tan for a karaoke session thereafter a change of clothes! It was so fun and it was a great opportunity to loosen up before our next challenge!

I sang “This Love” by Maroon 5! Hahaha! I probably made a fool of myself but I definitely had a ball of a time!

Saturday, 19 December 2009

Today’s shoot was quite bizarre! We were submerged in water with a squid on our chest. The squid had a foul smell, felt sticky and heavy but I couldn’t help but feel sorry for it as it was mishandled so much! It was hard to hold my neck in position to look up at the camera but it was a fun challenge that was different and wild.

That night, Fiona got eliminated! =( She is such a great person to talk to and really had a strong passion for modeling. I love her and I know she is going to keep going and do well in the modeling industry!

Saturday, 19 December 2009

Today was so awesome! We got to sleep in! It was so good compared to our usual waking up time at 6 am!

We headed to Suntec City to get yummy Chinese pastry and soya milk. We walked over to the “Singapore Flyer” where we got to experience Singapore’s city view which was spectacular! We saw the upcoming casino and Sentosa. We managed to find The Ascott where we first stayed! The view was really breathtaking!

After our scenery viewing ride, we headed over to “Kenko” for a fish foot spa treatment. We simply place our feel in a tank full of kiss fish and they will nibble away our dead skin. It was insanely ticklish at first but it felt like a vibrating foot massage as I got used it to. I loved it because I have not done anything like that before!

Later on, we went to “Pier Side” for dinner. We had fruity cocktails, creamy seafood, veal and spinach spaghetti. We finished dinner with scuffle, sorbet, peppermint ice cream, chocolate moose cake, apricot reserves and crème brulee altogether! It was SO SO amazing!

We walked back to Suntec City to do some grocery shopping and collapsed onto our beds once we reached home!

Saturday, 12 December 2009

This morning I had my hands plunged into a pile of mealworms! It was so repulsive and I almost died of fright. They were warm and wriggling around! We picked out envelopes which might or might not advantage us in today’s challenge.

Later on, we went to Forest Adventure where we had a challenge to complete a rope course. We did crazy things like jump at a 5 metre ledge and swing towards a spider net. We even did the flying fox which went at lightning speed.

I was so nervous beforehand and was shaking throughout the whole course, but it was really quite fun! At the end, I felt so proud of myself.

Saturday, 12 December 2009

Today was our day off, slept in as we got home late last night.

Jenny and I went for a run and then the girls and I went for movies at Great World City. We caught Angels & Demons and it was soooo good! We went shopping at Zara, Watsons and went to “Cha Cha Cha” for some Mexican dinner. The food was so delicious! I got to call home today for the first time!

Saturday, 12 December 2009

We had a shoot at a machinery warehouse when it was so humid and hot! The shoot was with a cherry picker where we were raised a couple of metres off the ground. It made it even more challenging!

I decided to dangle out of the cherry picker to make the shoot more interesting. I was totally hanging out at one stage which was a bad idea as I couldn’t pull myself back up and someone had to save me!!

We had eliminations today and my closest friend, Jenny had to go. I was so sad as she keeps me strong in the competition. She is really the most pure hearted and sweetest girl here. She is such a good model and still has her feet firm on the ground with the most genuine beliefs. I will miss her so so much!!

=(

Saturday, 05 December 2009

We had a challenge today. We attended an acting class which was conducted by Irene Ang. It taught us how to get rid of stage fright and gain confidence while modeling in front of the camera or on the runway.

I know I’m not the best at acting and completely made a fool of myself. I did learn a lot from this challenge and had so much fun too.

We were told that the winners would get an outfit from River Island. Sadly, I didn’t win anything. While were shopping, I realized I couldn’t find my wallet. I freaked out! Thankfully, I found it at home later on!

We went for a run around the house but got lost on the way home. It was hilarious!! We had to stop a car and ask for directions to our house!

I’m hoping everything goes well tomorrow!

Saturday, 05 December 2009

We went to Olivier Henry’s studio today for a raw emotion shoot. This was by far the most difficult challenge yet. There was minimal make-up and we had to prove to Olivier Henry that we could express our most intense emotions.

I cried during the shoot! I was so proud of myself! I normally find it hard to just turn on the tears and cry in front of people but I did it! What made me cry were the thoughts of fights I had with my parents and how I have disappointed them at times. I felt really emotionally drained after the shoot as I had just released a lot of buried feelings.

Elimination followed and Ciara’s elimination shocked me! I thought her photos were not that bad but apparently she didn’t show any genuine expressions on set.

Later that night, we had a chat with her to explain why we had problems with her. It was good to leave on a better note with her. When she opened up to us, we really saw how genuine she could be.

Ouch! That is all I can say right now, I’m still in pain! We learnt from Elaine Daly this morning that we were going to Honey Pot for a Brazillian. ‘Oh yeah,’ I thought ‘Just another day getting everything ripped out in all the sensitive spots.’ Oh gosh I was nervous! I’ve never had one done so I was bracing myself. During the actual waxing I felt like quitting half way, also I felt like bursting into tears but I kept my poker face on (I think) and tried not to complain too much so it would be over quickly. I kept on saying “How long until you’ve finished? Percentage wise?” Worst of all I was told which part would hurt the most, which made me want to cry even more. In the end it was worth it because we were treated to a free bikini sponsored by Rip Curl. I loved mine, it had a cute frilly bottom with gold, green, blue spots. We hung out with Elaine by the pool later on with our new bikinis and she told us all about the modelling world. I learnt that she has completed her law degree while doing modelling! It’s so impressive, I know that I want to study and model too so I have an education behind me.

We were actually worried about going in the pool because the lady at Honey Pot said stay away from showering with hot water because it opens your pores and bacteria or whatever can enter your skin and get infected. Since we were in a pool straight after waxing we were worried about that issue! But we forgot about that as it was soo hot and we wanted to cool down!

Today was so great, even though this morning was rather uncomfortable the day turned out to be very relaxing, I really enjoyed today, I know that the next few days however will be way more stressful!

FUN FACTS

1. Describe yourself. What do you think about yourself and do you think people perceive you in the same way?

I am someone who would never deliberately go out of my way to hurt someone. I go out of my way to avoid confrontations. My friends would agree.

2. What is the funniest prank played on you or played by you?

Pranks are mean.

3. If you had to choose between being pretty or smart, which one would you choose?

Smart, because you can get a lot further in life. You can be successful and make wise decisions to make you happier in life.

4. What is the best vacation you’ve ever had in your life?

Going to London as part of my choir trip and singing in amazing churches like Westminster Abbey. I got to visit and sing in the Queen’s cathedral.

5. If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing that you would do?

Invest it so it gains interest then share it with people I love and people who need it more than me.

6. What is your current ambition and what are you doing to achieve it?

My current ambition is to see as much of the world as I can. I'm very interested to visit all the countries in the world so I can experience the different cultures and languages. So far, I've traveled to quite a few countries like Malaysia, Thailand, England and the United States of America. Hopefully I will be lucky enough to see many other exciting places like Egypt, Brazil, China, Japan, France and Ireland. I don’t want to miss out any part of the world!

7. What is the craziest thing you have ever done?

The craziest thing I have ever done is to feed an elephant in Thailand. It doesn't sound as exciting as bungee jumping or sky diving (I’ve never done either of those), but simply seeing an elephant in the city of Hat Yai and having the opportunity to feed it was an amazing and unforgettable experience, especially because elephants walking around in Perth isn't very common!

Another crazy thing I did was to walk through Perth City dressed like a Transformer. I was going to a party and decided to dress up in a massive cardboard costume. The transit officer told me I had to take parts of my costume off if I wanted to catch public transport. Sure enough, everyone in the City was staring. And the funniest part was the guy who held the party said strictly no costume.

8. What is your strongest quality?

My strongest quality is my ability to read people’s mind. I'm very good at telling how someone is feeling by looking at their body language and facial expression. I'm very aware of what goes on around me.

9. What is the most important thing you want the judges to know?

I would want the judges to know that I am a really quick learner and I am not afraid to try different things. I consider criticism a good thing, and an opportunity to learn. I also want them to know that I really appreciate this amazing opportunity they have given me! I still can't believe this is happening!
